Post Office Polka Dots

Lately I have been magnetised towards outfits that consist of navy and beige like this one but this particular outfit is just spectacular because it consists of navy, beige and a pop of red which makes the neutrals come alive. I’m definitely Little Miss Neutral if there ever was but I think this little snippet of red makes all the difference. The gold jewellery also adds another dimension to the outfit.

Don’t the stripes on the pouch remind you of those old post office envelopes? I love it!

Madewell Spring 2012

I’m really love the new Madewell Spring 2012 collection. So many neutrals, brights and patterns – all the best things. I love the layered way that the models have been styled for this lookbook. Everything about this collection is lovely.

I kind of really love this outfit and these colours. I bought three items of clothing this weekend in these colours and whilst shopping I visited Cotton On for the first time – it is like shopping in another country, so good!

Sweltering

Today and yesterday here in Cape Town have been sweltering hot – the kind of heat that makes you want to run to the North Pole and fall face down onto the snow in a bikini, not the good kind. I wish I could look as good in the heat as the girls in the photo but, alas, all I can manage to wear is a loose dress with my hair in a bun and my fringe plastered to the side – not the best look. I definitely think I’m a winter type of girl. I cannot wait for this heatwave to end.

I recently discovered ban.do and I am in love. If you read my blog regularly you will know that I love anything sequined and sparkly and ban.do encompasses all the things that make my heart flutter in their accessory line.  I want to own everything in the shop and all those beautiful headbands are definitely going on my wishlist – especially this one. I wore this outfit when I went to get my matric results yesterday. I can only say that I felt nauseous waiting for them but when I got them I was very happy.

Sequins // Sequence

I am currently obsessed with sequins. I don’t have baskets full of sequined clothes all over my bedroom but at the moment I don’t think that is a bad idea – which my usual gray loving self would not have thought of a couple of months ago.

I fell in love with the outfit that Amy Heidemann is wearing when I watched Karmin’s cover of Pumped Up Kicks. I spent the rest of the morning devising a plan of how to get myself  a red mini. Oh dear.

On the topic of all things sparkly, I am enamored with bokeh photography. I’ve known about it for months and I know it is a big trend right now but I still have yet to try my hand at it. New year’s goal maybe?

It’s the new year and it is time to do something I’ve always wanted to on the blog – outfit posts. It’s kind of funny that all the brands I’m wearing are from the UK seen as I’ve never been there and I live in South Africa. This is pretty much my daily colour pallet but I think I’mm going to try and add some colour to my wardrobe. Let’s see how that goes. I wore this outfit today when I went out with my sisters to Kalk Bay. Lovely.
