I totally adore the idea of pastel and gold together. This little pretty party happening in the picture makes me want to throw the biggest girly tea party I can think of – now I just need a reason to have one. Oh well. I can dream for the mean time.

A weekly dose of all things whimsical.
I have to say that I pretty much love pastels right now and just more colour in general. I am what can be described as a neon grey dresser where most of my clothes are some sort of grey/black/white – I’m like the grey scale setting on a printer. Now that it’s Summer I feel like wearing more colour – to brighten and lighten my wardrobe.♥♥

The loveliness of Gatsby
I actually cannot contain my excitement. I just found these magnificent photos from the set of the new The Great Gatsby movie on Pinterest. It is literally one of my favourite novels and I have long been awaiting a glimpse of what the new movie is going to look like. It is being directed by Baz Luhrmann – one my most favourite directors – and I couldn’t think of anyone better for the job. The cast is spectacular too; they’re an embodiment of the extravagant characters of the ’20s F. Scott Fitzgerald created. I am in love with this movie already!
I am dying inside at the loveliness of these pictures. Don’t you think Carey Mulligan is the best Daisy, Leonardo DiCaprio the best Gatsby and Tobey Maguire the best Nick? So in love.

Sweltering
Today and yesterday here in Cape Town have been sweltering hot – the kind of heat that makes you want to run to the North Pole and fall face down onto the snow in a bikini, not the good kind. I wish I could look as good in the heat as the girls in the photo but, alas, all I can manage to wear is a loose dress with my hair in a bun and my fringe plastered to the side – not the best look. I definitely think I’m a winter type of girl. I cannot wait for this heatwave to end.

I recently discovered ban.do and I am in love. If you read my blog regularly you will know that I love anything sequined and sparkly and ban.do encompasses all the things that make my heart flutter in their accessory line. A weekly dose of all things whimsical.
I am feeling very inspired this week. I got my first MacBook Pro yesterday and I am loving it. It makes blogging that much easier.
Whimsicality is a new weekly blog feature that I am starting. It is and will be made up of all things inspiring an whimsical that I have come across during the week. Let me just say that I absolutely fell in love with Michaela’s outfit (the first picture) when I came saw it on her blog The Drifter and The Gypsy earlier this week. In love.

I just discovered Vogue Enfants – so precious. This picture reminded me of how much I want to get back into ballet; I stopped and started it several times when I was younger. I am going to start it at a studio in Gardens with my sister soon – love.

I wore this outfit when I went to get my matric results yesterday. I can only say that I felt nauseous waiting for them but when I got them I was very happy.
